Hi! My name is Craig Commanda. I’m an Algonquin musician and filmmaker from Kitigan Zibi First Nation. I started playing music 8 years ago, and haven’t looked back since. My films have taken me as far as New Zealand, the United States, and Switzerland. I’m also a 3 time Banff Centre alumni, having taken part in 3 indigenous arts residencies in 2014, 2015, and 2016. I’m also a multi instrumentalist, I play the guitar, bass, drums, Cajon, harmonica, and vocals.
I enjoy many different genres of music, such as: jazz, reggae, blues, rock, country, hip hop, metal, folk, flamenco, classical, pop, indigenous music, and more. I’m very excited to be a part of the CKWE crew and I hope to bring some new tunes and flavors for you all to enjoy.
