
Kwey kakina!
Craig Commanda nindijinikàz (AKA Groovin’ Craig), Kitigan Zibi nindòndjiba. I’m a home-grown
multi-disciplinary artist from right here in Kitigan Zibi. I’ve done work in film, music, visual arts,
fashion, sculpture, hide-tanning, and more! I also have a BFA in Film production from
Concordia. My films have screened at Imaginative in Toronto, Maoriland in New Zealand, and
even in Brazil. My beadwork has been sold at art Toronto and Foire Plural in Montreal
I’m back at CKWE for a little while until November, so expect to hear more music from our
Indigenous relations from across so-called Canada. I’m also making it a point to speak more of
our beautiful language on the airwaves, so please tune in to follow along with my language
jourmey!
I do my best to represent our Anishinaabeg culture in all that I do. Some things I’ve
accomplished include:
Having an artwork in an exhibition called NIN, which was organized by Minwashin and is
currently on display now at the Musèe De La Civilisation in Quèbec City:
